The Opportunity

Do you want to be part of the team designing, developing, producing and testing the future of Australian aviation technology?

Boeing Defence Australia's (BDA) is currently looking for System Administrators.

This position will support the sustainment of a multi-tenanted, high-assurance network. The primary focus of the role involves system administration across compute, storage, networking, firewalls, client delivery services and infrastructure applications. The role also includes problem resolution and technical support for delivery of systems, user administration, ongoing monitoring of system performance to support capacity planning, and backup and disaster recovery planning.

The role will be required to work closely within a team including a Technical Lead, ITSO Cyber GRC Specialist as well as other System Administrators, providing solution design reviews and subject matter expertise in key technology aspects of the design.

This role is based in Brisbane and requires a minimum NV2 security clearance.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong background in implementing and administrating complex, high-assurance systems that are security focused.
  • Strong Windows Server administration experience and skills.
  • Strong storage administration and integration skills with hypervisors (Fibre Channel, Pure Storage, VMware).
  • Strong Identity Management, Multi-Factor Authentication (Active Directory, Federation Services, RSA).
  • Design and implementation of application and desktop delivery services (Citrix XenApp, Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) and Gateway).
  • Experience with building/administrating Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Computing Services (UCS) servers and fabric interconnects.
  • Working knowledge of the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Information Security Manual (ISM).
  • Systematic and logical problem-solving skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team, in a conscientious and inclusive way is valued by our team.

Other specific criteria:

  • The ability to undertake ad-hoc tasks outside of core business hours.
  • Hold an active Defence Security clearance of Negative Vetting 2.
  • Have an Australian driver's license.

Desirable criteria:

  • University Degree in the chosen discipline.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
  • Experience with Backup Administration (Veeam).
  • Experience with Collaboration and Communication services (MS Skype, SharePoint).
  • Experience with secure Managed File Transfer (MFT) tools (such as GoAnywhere) and workflow development.
  • Working knowledge of networking and firewalls with understanding of security and segregation techniques such as VRF, IPSec, Security Profiles, vSys (Cisco Switches and Routers, Palo Alto).
  • Defence industry experience.
  • ITIL Fundamentals Certification.
  • Experience delivering using the Scaled Agile approach.
