Arvida Group Limited seeks a fixed term Team Gardener for fulltime onsite work in Palmerston North to create and maintain our community gardens with a resident led approach. We want a versatile, service minded gardener who embraces natural techniques in a chemical free environment. Ideally Level 3 Horticulture with a view to Level 4, demonstrated competence in a similar role, plant knowledge, initiative and safe work practices, plus a NZ Driver’s Licence and the ability to drive a small manual truck. Strong communication, teamwork and fitness for a physically demanding role are essential. We offer market rate salary, uniform, PPE, training and apprenticeships. Mō te tūranga | About the Role

We are looking for a versatile and motivated gardener with a desire to create and maintain the stunning gardens at our community. Your dedication to great customer service will shine through for our residents, who are at the heart of all we do. We garden using natural techniques and are looking for somebody with a true passion for gardening.

We pay market rates and provide a uniform, including quality wet weather gear, tools, and PPE. We provide training and we promote an educational path for our gardeners’ encouraging apprenticeships with Primary ITO.

This is a physically demanding job, and a high level of fitness is required. 

Qualifications

Nga Tohu me nga wheako | Qualifications and Experience

Ideally, Level 3 Horticulture with a desire to continue with Level 4 although this is not essential as training will be provided for an enthusiastic applicant

• Demonstrated competence in a similar role
• Demonstrated knowledge of plants, growth patterns,
• Highly motivated, flexible, and able to take initiative
• Safe work practices
• NZ Drivers License and the ability to drive a small manual truck
