NZSki seeks a Team Leader Rentals to run operations across Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt outlets, assisting Head of Department and supervising the Rentals Team to deliver seamless guest service from boots to boards. NZSki boasts one of the most modern and innovative rental fleets in the world comprising of the leading Head BYS system and the Burton LTR snowboards.
Our staff are an important part of our mountain's personalities and help us deliver on our purpose. The role of a Rentals Assistant is to provide our guests with a seamless service by assisting them onto the snow in suitably fitted snow sports rental equipment including skis, snowboards & clothing.
About the role
• In this role, you will assist the Head of Department in the day to day running of the department, as well as covering their days off
• Supervise the Rentals Team on the floor being the contact point for any team queries or issues
• Identify bottlenecks and support team in any station of guest journey through rentals process
• Ensure all daily staff schedules are correct and up to date
• Share information across the team by holding daily debriefs at the end of the day
• Actively recognise team using NZSkis recognition program
• Organise staff events
• Foster a H&S positive team environment
• Report any new arising hazards or work incident and injuries
• Be a role model and lead by example
• Support in training delivery pre season and providing ongoing training thereafter
• Attend Team Leader and H&S meetings
• Deliver exemplary customer service
• Deescalate conflict and find solutions during guest complaints
• Fitting boots, skis and snowboards and other gear safely and efficiently
• Maintaining a tidy work area
• Ensuring all rental items have been checked in accordance with all health and safety and set up requirements
• Managing the rentals process for schools and groups on arrival

About You
• Minimum of 1 year prior experience in rental operations
• Proven 2 years prior experience in leading, motivating and inspiring a team
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, work unsupervised and manage your own time
• Highly customer focused with the ability to adapt to the demands of the business
• Ability to provide a safe and efficient service in a fast paced environment
• The ability to engage and build a rapport with guests and staff quickly
• Strong teamwork skills and experience in frontline customer service
• Willing to assist in other departments and take on additional duties as required
Further Information
• Shifts will vary from early starts (7am start) to accommodate for schools and groups, to working split shifts and evening shifts during night ski (10pm finish).

• Start date of this position is 26 May – a later start is not possible.
• You need a valid work visa for the entire duration of the season (26 May – end of September (Coronet Peak)/mid October (The Remarkables). – No 3 month visa restrictions.
