The Opportunity
What’s next in your career? Are you ready to start a new journey?
At BlueScope, our Team Members bring a diverse range of skills, experiences and perspectives. If you're looking to build a rewarding career in manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you.
As part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers. Each day, you’ll play an integral part in producing BlueScope’s steel for our customers, ensuring that only the finest quality is delivered.
No previous manufacturing or operations experience is required. We'll provide all the training, support and coaching you need to help you succeed in your new role.
We're excited to be creating a Talent Community of future Team Members. Being selected into our Talent Community opens the door to 12-month fixed-term opportunities as they become available, with positions expected to commence from October 2026 and continue to arise over the following 12 months.
We're committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and empowered to be their authentic selves. We encourage applications from women and First Nations people as we continue to build a diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
This is a hands-on, physically active role where no two days are the same. You'll be part of a supportive team operating machinery, moving steel products and helping keep our operations running safely and efficiently.
These roles involve being on your feet for most of your shift and may require manual handling, lifting, working around large machinery and exposure to heat, noise and working at heights, depending on the department. We provide the training, equipment and ongoing support needed to help you perform your role safely and confidently.
To help you decide whether this opportunity is right for you, you'll have the opportunity to attend an online Information Session where we'll provide more detail about the different departments, the work involved and the shift patterns available.
Opportunities like this don't come around often, making this a unique chance to start a career with one of Australia's leading manufacturers.
