SICPA is seeking a Technical Coordinator (Software / Automation) to drive validation of industrial software and automation for coding machines onsite in Prilly. The position blends technical expertise with delivery accountability and cross-functional coordination to ensure predictable execution and quality. You will lead release validation, plan and monitor customizations, manage risks and dependencies, and remove blockers with development, QA, deployment, and field teams, while ensuring readiness and on-time delivery. TECHNICAL COORDINATOR (SOFTWARE / AUTOMATION)
The Technical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and driving the validation of industrial software and/or automation solutions for our coding machines. The role combines strong technical expertise, delivery accountability, and cross-functional coordination, ensuring predictable execution, high quality, and continuous improvement of both processes and solutions.
Role :
- Drive coordination Software release validation for our industrial inhouse coding machines.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor validation and release activities for customer-specific customizations.
- Actively manage planning, risks, technical dependencies, and delivery constraints, taking corrective actions through replanning, reprioritization, or mitigation when required.
- Solve technical dependencies with people in development teams, QA, deployment teams and operations. Assure availability of machines and material for validation.
- Plan and execute validation assuring operational readiness of coding machines at expected quality on the committed deadlines. Incorporate risks, constraints and dependencies into planning to be able to commit to a delivery date.
- Maintain a structured and transparent status of all ongoing validation activities.
- Manage and follow up on incidents, problems, and change requests raised from operations or field technicians.
- Improve internal validation process and tooling for release validation.
- Promote and apply a continuous improvement mindset, simplifying processes, validation approaches, and technical solutions to improve efficiency, robustness, and time-to‑market.
- Actively contribute to the technical development and evolution of industrial solutions.
- Support activities both in the office and in the field, including validation, commissioning, and operational support when required.
Profile :
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field (Software Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial or technical environments involving complex systems.
- Strong hands-on expertise in at least one of the following domains:

- Java software development (industrial software, platforms, backend or custom applications)
- Industrial automation / PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, or equivalent).
- Good technical understanding of both software and automation domains, enabling effective coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience in delivery-driven environments, managing timelines, priorities, dependencies, and risks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are key, with the ability to align stakeholders, facilitate collaboration, handle priorities, and address issues constructively.
- Ability to take a step back and maintain a global overview while remaining pragmatic and solution oriented.
- Comfortable working both in the office and on-site (support, validation, commissioning, troubleshooting).
- Proactive, reliable, and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Curious and improvement-driven, continuously seeking to simplify processes and solutions.
- Fluent in English; French is a plus; additional European languages are an asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally when required
