Job Summary
As a Technical Sales professional at Hitachi Energy., you will play a pivotal role in supporting and deploying applications to improve the reliability and availability of MV and HV electrical power grids. You will apply your technical skillset to support the Bay Level Products and Solutions within the Hitachi Energy Grid Automation portfolio in Australia and other assigned territories in APAC. As a Protection and Control IED Specialist, you’ll provide applications support to our customers to automate, protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems. You will act as a crucial link between our engineering teams, factory and customers, ensuring that our offerings meet their specific needs and deliver exceptional value.
Job Responsibilities
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories and target accounts.
Conduct in-depth technical presentations and demonstrations of Hitachi Energy's Protection and Control products and solutions to prospective and existing clients.
Collaborate with customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements, then propose tailored Hitachi Energy solutions.
Provide technical leadership for Sales teams during customer meetings, product presentations and negotiations
Supports bid/no bid analyses and decisions. Participates in project risk review processes
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decisionmakers and technical contacts.
Work closely with internal engineering, product development, and support teams to ensure customer application requirements and captured and satisfied
Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscapes, and Hitachi Energy's evolving product portfolio.
Offers product and application related trainings for customer accounts and internal teams
Provide market feedback to product management and engineering teams for future product enhancements and development.
Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events as a Hitachi representative.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in technical sales, presales, or a relevant engineering role, preferably within the Utility sector.
Strong understanding of complex technical concepts and the ability to articulate them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel frequently to customer sites and industry events.
Knowledge of Hitachi Energy's product lines or related technologies (e.g., Relion 670 series, MicroSCADA, RTU500 series) is a significant advantage.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a results-oriented mindset.
