About the role: We are looking for a Technical Strategy and Operations lead for the AI Platform (AIP) team. To succeed in this role, one must be capable of independently diving into technical projects while also skillfully handling day-to-day operations, thereby enabling AIP to accomplish its mission. This is a senior individual contributor role, where projects will include a range of different problems to solve and projects to work on.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving the cadence of the business including key communications and reporting, across all levels of the organization i.e. reporting, OKRs, quarterly and annual planning, team comms and decision-making.
  • Oversight of our overall annual spend and working on efforts to drive efficiency, as well as ensuring our spend is going to highest priority capability areas to continue to advance our model, partnering directly varying teams. 
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Partnering with the cross functionally and with leadership to develop and evolve strategy and goals in a coordinated way. 
  • Influence cross-functional partners and stakeholders without direct authority, leveraging strong relationships and a proven track record of thoughtful execution to drive alignment and collaboration across teams.
  • Enable decision making across executive and senior leadership and all levels of the org, foreseeing the pushback, challenges and providing data and tradeoffs for your stakeholders.
  • Lead and own critical strategic projects, taking primary responsibility for driving problem definition, and guiding the overall project direction from inception to completion.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence, skillfully managing your own time and priorities to deliver outcomes for clearly scoped work within complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Act as a proactive thought partner within the team, identifying core issues, contributing to solution development, and providing guidance to peers navigating strategic and operational challenges.
  • Actively contribute to enhancing team culture and operational best practices, helping to make Google a better place to work through community contributions and continuous improvement.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree  or equivalent practical experience, leading strategic and operational initiatives for a large organization.
  • 15 years of professional experience including 10 years in a similar role and/or in Management Consulting, Product Management, Engineering, or Operations of a product development team. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ML experience
  • 15+ years of strong project management experience, problem solving and analytical skills, combined with strong business judgment and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated track record of cross-functional senior stakeholder management and leadership through influence.
  • Ability to influence without authority, working on and with technical and cross-functional or highly matrixed teams who do not report into this role to get things done.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with heavy emphasis on teamwork.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to represent complex business or technical concepts with senior leadership.

 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $183,000 - $271,000 + bonus + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
