DP World is seeking a Technical Superintendent to oversee daily vessel operations, supervise maintenance to manufacturer standards, manage operating and capital budgets, coordinate spare parts procurement, and identify cost saving opportunities while training and leading a technical team through mobilisations, refits and dry-docking. The role requires regular reporting to the Line Manager on operations, incidents and budget performance, close collaboration with procurement and HSSEQ to maintain safety and quality across the fleet, and diligent cost tracking. ⮚ To supervise daily operational activities of all assigned vessels.
⮚ To assist/monitor colleagues during their periods away from office.
⮚ To keep the Line Manager advised on a regular basis about vessel operations,
budgetary performance, and any untoward incidents on vessels in the fleet.
⮚ To assist with preparation and technical management of the operating and capital
budgets for assigned vessels.
⮚ To coordinate with the Procurement Department regarding supply of spare parts of
all vessels, considering the opportunities for replenishment w.r.t. the trading commitments of the
vessels to provide for the most economical spare parts supply.
⮚ To work with the purchasers to identify cost savings through innovative supply
chain management.
⮚ To ensure all maintenance is performed to a high standard and as per
manufacturer’s recommendations.
⮚ To ensure adequate promotion and implementation of company's health, safety,
environment, and quality policy on-board the vessels related to technical.
⮚ To liaise with HSSEQ to ensure all safety standards are met across the fleet.
⮚ To monitor vessel condition through regular on-board inspections and report
generation.
⮚ To drive all technical related mobilisation activities, refits, dry-docking, and
major repairs.
⮚ To plan for repairs and dry-docking of the vessels at suitable regular intervals.
⮚ To train and supervise the technical team, providing general guidance with
day-to-day operational involvement.
⮚ To monitor NSE PMS and revise standard jobs, work orders, new patches, etc., as
necessary.
⮚ To work closely with the Workshop Superintendent to ensure all maintenance
activities are handled safely and to best practice internally, with a reducing focus on outsourcing
works to third parties as the workshop matures.
⮚ To close out all requisitions raised, in coordination with the Procurement
department, within the allotted time frame.
⮚ To be in-charge of planning and execution of all dry-docking activities, within
budget limits.
⮚ To monitor/track technical costs as per approved budget.
