AsureQuality is hiring two full-time permanent Technicians for the Christchurch Microbiology Team to perform routine microbiological analyses and help ensure customer products meet high quality and safety standards. The role requires delivering tests within target TATs, adhering to laboratory and regulatory QA procedures, maintaining accurate records, keeping a tidy workspace, and actively contributing to safety and continuous improvement on a 7 days a week operation with one weekend day, shifts between 8.00 am and 7.00 pm and with overtime at short notice, a minimum of 40 hours per week. You should be a motivated team player with a relevant degree or diploma in microbiology or food science, strong attention to detail and good communication. We are looking for 2 full time permanent Technicians to join our Microbiology Team based at our Christchurch Laboratory. Successful applicants will be responsible for carrying out Microbiological analysis on routine samples and ensure our customer's products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Your key duties will involve:

• Complete sample testing within the given turn-around-time (TAT)
• Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures
• Ensure all relevant records are kept up to date at all times
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Participate and contribute to working safely
• Be actively involved in all the day to day improvement activities

Our laboratory is open 7 days a week and flexibility to work overtime at short notice is ideal. The roster on offer will include one weekend day. The successful applicant will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week. Please note  shift work is involved between 8.00am and 7pm.

About you:

We want to hear from motivated individuals who are keen team players with a passion for providing quality customer focus. Ideally you will have/be;

• Recent graduate
• Experience in a similar environment or worked in Retail or Hospitality
• Passionate about Microbiology as a career
• Good hand and eye co-ordination
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent time management and organisational skill
• Clear communication (both written and verbal)

Qualifications

Tertiary degree/diploma in relevant field - microbiology or food science.
