Sixense Engineering, a VINCI Construction subsidiary, works every day to move the world toward greater sustainability. Nationally organized into seven regions, the team of about 300 experts tackles tomorrow’s engineering challenges across a range of specialisms. The company’s Building and Infrastructure division builds its know-how through diagnostic work, structural calculations, inspections and non-destructive testing, technical support and project management. They aim to reduce the risks posed by aging infrastructure, with real-world work like the Pont Morandi example. The vacancy is for a Technicien(ne) Génie Civil F/H at the Pessac (33) agency.

Under the agency manager, you’ll perform inspections, measurements and technical investigations essential to assessing structures, ensuring the diagnostics produced are accurate and reliable. In a sector evolving with aging assets, your role helps detect issues, stabilise data and contribute to safeguarding the built heritage through careful data collection and a solid understanding of how structures behave in real life.

Day-to-day work in the field

On site, you’ll join project briefings, plan missions, coordinate materials and personnel, and carry out field assignments while upholding safety, quality, environmental and schedule requirements. You’ll analyse the data you gather, produce clear plans with AUTOCAD, participate in debriefs, and look for practical ways to make field processes more efficient. You’ll also contribute to keeping equipment and workspaces in good order and share learnings to benefit the wider team.

Beyond the现场 activities, you’ll help manage site interactions with interns, temporary workers and subcontractors, ensuring their missions run smoothly and that any risks, non‑conformities or on-site events are reported clearly. You’ll be part of a team that values both rigorous technical work and the hands-on, on-site elements of diagnostics and construction monitoring.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Must-have: a diploma in civil engineering or building disciplines at the DUT, BTS or Bachelor level, plus initial experience in a design office or within a construction company.
  • Must-have: a valid category B driving licence and a readiness to travel within the region.
  • Nice-to-have: a mindset curious about diagnostic methods and a track record of on-site investigations.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with fieldwork and the use of measurement tools and on-site equipment like core drills, radar and ferroscan devices, as well as other measuring instruments.
  • Nice-to-have: an interest in combining office diagnostics with active site work and a willingness to receive internal training in diagnostic methods, destructive and non-destructive testing, and structural auscultation techniques.

Advice for applicants

Highlight at the top of your resume your civil engineering or building qualification and any hands-on experience in a design office or construction environment, since that combination is central to this role.

Show concrete proof of the must-haves by describing a project where you collected field data, drafted plans in AUTOCAD and conducted on-site work with safety and quality controls in place.

Be ready to discuss the on-site data collection and measurement tasks you’ve performed, including how you ensured data reliability and how you handled safety obligations in the field.

Ask about the internal training in diagnostic methods and non-destructive testing, and inquire how the team envisions progression within the Building and Infrastructure group as you grow your expertise.
