Technip Energies is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer in Abu Dhabi to lead the design, engineering and implementation of telecommunication systems for onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects, supporting FEED, Detailed Design, EPC, procurement and commissioning while ensuring compliance with client requirements. Expect responsibility for PAGA, CCTV, access control, radio, fiber, structured cabling and LAN/WAN networks, plus vendor reviews, technical bid evaluations and FAT/SAT coordination. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of telecom experience in O&G or energy, a relevant degree, and English proficiency; ME/ADNOC exposure is a plus. Job Purpose
The Telecom Engineer is responsible for the design, engineering, specification, and implementation of telecommunication systems for onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects. The role involves supporting FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities while ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards, project schedules, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities Engineering & Design- Develop telecommunication engineering deliverables for FEED and Detailed Design projects.
- Prepare Telecom Design Basis, system architecture diagrams, block diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Design and specify telecommunication systems including:
- Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA)
- Telephone and IP Telephony Systems
- CCTV Systems
- Access Control Systems
- Radio Communication Systems (VHF/UHF/TETRA)
- Fiber Optic Communication Networks
- Structured Cabling Systems
- LAN/WAN Networks
- Prepare material requisitions, datasheets, cable schedules, and equipment lists.
- Perform telecom system studies and ensure system compliance with project requirements.
- Review drawings and documents from vendors and other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare technical requisitions and purchase specifications.
- Review vendor quotations and participate in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
- Review and comment on vendor documents and drawings.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely equipment delivery.
- Support project activities to ensure deliverables are completed within schedule and budget.
- Coordinate with Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Process disciplines.
- Participate in client meetings and technical discussions.
- Maintain project documentation and engineering progress records.
- Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Address technical queries raised by site teams and contractors.
- Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) activities.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of telecom system issues.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, client specifications, and international standards.
- Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Support HSE objectives and ensure telecom designs comply with project safety requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of telecom engineering experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Refinery, or Energy projects.
- Experience in FEED, Detailed Design, and EPC projects preferred.
- Middle East and ADNOC project experience is an advantage.
