On-site
Harare, NZ

TotalEnergies Marketing Zimbabwe (Private) Limited is looking for a diligent Territory Manager to lead the company’s forecourt network from Harare. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Harare, focused on developing dealer partnerships, driving profitability, and ensuring top-notch service across the territory. It’s a fit for someone who enjoys field work, coaching station teams, and turning data into action. The employer is part of TotalEnergies, a global multi-energy group committed to energy transition and diverse, inclusive workplaces.

In this role you’ll work closely with station teams, dealers and internal units to keep contracts valid and performance on track, while coordinating deliveries and stock to avoid outages. You’ll balance hands-on training with strategic oversight, aiming to lift safety, compliance, and profitability in the Harare area, including the Harare-Auckland Road workplace. If you like a mix of on-site coaching, process improvement, and business development, you’ll likely feel at home here.

The opportunity appeals to practitioners who want meaningful ownership over a network, enjoy building relationships with dealers, and are comfortable using data to drive results. You’ll be expected to operate with integrity, communicate clearly, and lead through influence in a collaboration-first environment that values learning and professional growth.

Day-to-day impact in the field

On a typical day, the Territory Manager documents every station visit in the Retail call report book and Salsa Dynamics, ensuring observations are captured and that concrete remedial plans are put in place with dealer agreement. They aim to elevate service quality across the portfolio, reviewing performance with dealers and implementing corrective actions where needed, while keeping a clear eye on maintaining top service standards.

Training and development sit at the core of daily activities. The role identifies learning needs and coordinates on-site coaching in partnership with the Training Manager, covering topics from HSSE and HACCP to top service practices, product knowledge, and compliance. Regular adoption and tracking of Salsa Dynamics KPIs guide weekly plan and reporting, with information logged, action plans tracked, and improvements closed out.

Financial stewardship and governance are front and center. The manager ensures each station holds a valid contract and adheres to obligations, while monitoring insurance coverage and regulatory compliance on behalf of the company. They oversee profitability efforts, perform monthly reconciliations between dealer assets and liabilities, and ensure dealers sign off on statements while closing any gaps promptly. The role also requires timely, detailed reporting on financial health, stock levels, and safety/quality checks, feeding into risk management and decision-making.

Operational and commercial duties blend throughout the week. The manager coordinates with the CSC and Depot teams to plan deliveries, strengthen stock control, and prevent stockouts. Asset management and routine inspections keep equipment and facilities in good order, while stock-control reviews help minimize losses. On the commercial side, they supervise all retail functions within the territory, impacting earnings, margins, volume, and market share, while implementing approved group marketing policies and local adaptations. They also drive business development, shop planning and merchandising in line with standards, promote card penetration, and monitor market intelligence and new station opportunities to grow the network.

Advice for applicants

Put your relevant degree and your two to three years of experience right at the top of your resume, and consider a concise career headline that highlights your field leadership and territory experience in Harare or similar markets.

Back up the must-haves with real-world examples. Show how you managed dealer relationships, ensured contract compliance, improved profitability, and delivered training or quality improvements. Where possible, quantify outcomes, like improved service scores or reduced stock losses, so the hiring team can see your impact.

Be prepared to talk through your on-site approach to visits, training deliveries, and how you track progress. Expect to discuss documentation habits for station visits, use of Salsa Dynamics, and how you convert observations into concrete action plans with dealers.

Ask a pointed question that demonstrates your strategic mindset. For example: what metrics define success for a Territory Manager in this Harare area, and how does TotalEnergies measure dealer partnerships beyond quarterly numbers?
