Tourism Tutor
UP EducationUP Education is recruiting for a Tourism Tutor to join New Zealand School of Tourism, the country’s largest private tertiary provider focused on airline, travel and tourism training. With this role, you’ll deliver engaging training across tourism courses, drawing on planned curriculum and existing resources to create a strong student experience. You’ll guide learners toward their qualification and into pathways within travel and tourism. The good news is you don’t need prior teaching experience; comprehensive training and teaching tools will be provided to help you succeed as a trainer in this setting.
A day in the life of a tourism tutor
In this position, you’ll facilitate lessons and practical learning at the Auckland Airport Campus, ensuring students get a solid grounding in tourism fundamentals while also supporting their progress toward graduation. You’ll work with the curriculum and teaching resources to deliver consistent, quality instruction, while coaching students as they apply concepts to real-world scenarios. The role is designed to help you grow as an educator, using your industry experience to inform classroom discussions and activities.
Even though teaching experience isn’t required, you’ll apply your travel and tourism know-how to mentor learners, share industry insights, and help them chart their career paths. You'll receive structured training and ongoing support to help you become confident in your trainer duties and to deliver a positive student experience in every session.
Must-have and nice-to-have what you bring
Must-haves
- Four-plus years in the travel and tourism sector, including at least two years in a supervisory role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A real passion for sharing knowledge and helping learners succeed
Nice-to-haves
- Additional experience in tourism, hospitality or retail environments
- A diploma or degree in Tourism or a related field
- Teaching experience, while not required, would be a bonus

The role is full-time and fixed-term, based at the NZST Auckland Airport Campus and conducted onsite.
