Job Description
Step into the heart of the action with a role that puts you at the centre of Williams F1 Team race‑week experience. The Trackside Operations Lead is accountable for the end-to-end trackside delivery of Williams Racing’s Hospitality programme across both Paddock and Paddock Club environments. The role leads operational execution, people and supplier performance at race events, ensuring a high-quality and consistent experience for guests, partners and stakeholders.
The role operates with a high degree of autonomy, providing strong operational leadership and coordination across trackside teams. It supports senior leadership by ensuring clear oversight, effective communication and appropriate escalation of high-impact matters.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a team of 4 direct reports, setting clear priorities, ways of working and ensuring high standards of delivery.
- Provide day-to-day support, motivation and guidance to enable consistent performance across a busy race calendar.
- Create clarity around ownership and decision-making, ensuring work is planned, tracked and delivered to agreed timelines, budgets and expectations.
- Promote a positive, professional team environment focused on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate proactive leadership, anticipating issues and maintaining high standards of delivery across the trackside team.
Trackside Operations and Delivery
- Own the operational delivery of Williams’ trackside hospitality programme, ensuring consistent execution across Paddock and Paddock Club.
- Maintain oversight of trackside plans, schedules and delivery detail, ensuring all teams and suppliers are aligned ahead of each event.
- Act as the senior operational point of contact at selected races, resolving day-to-day issues efficiently and ensuring delivery remains on track.
- Ensure the commercial trackside programme is delivered to an exceptional standard and reflects the Williams brand.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail across all aspects of trackside delivery.
Strategy Execution & Experience Enhancement
- Work closely with the Head of Hospitality & Events to help shape and deliver the trackside strategy.
- Translate strategic direction into clear delivery plans, ensuring the team understands expectations and required outcomes.
- Identify and deliver value enhancements, refinements and innovations that elevate the guest experience and improve delivery efficiency.
Stakeholder & Commercial Support
- Provide operational support to the Commercial team across guest, partner and stakeholder requirements, ensuring a consistent and professional service level.
- Support strong cross-functional alignment across the Hospitality & Events team and the wider business to enable effective planning and delivery.
- Ensure stakeholder requests are managed with clarity and consistency, balancing guest experience, operational feasibility and commercial priorities.
Supplier & Financial Management
- Manage trackside suppliers, ensuring delivery to specification, on time and within budget.
- Maintain oversight of trackside budgets and spend, working with relevant leads to support accurate forecasting, cost control and reconciliation.
- Work with the Paddock Club Lead to manage ticket requirements, budgets and revenues, escalating any material risks or variances as appropriate.
- Support the Head of Hospitality & Events with new initiative planning and delivery, including cost-building, supplier selection and delivery strategies.
Governance, Accreditation & Oversight
- Oversee the Paddock accreditation process, ensuring it is managed effectively, accurately and in line with approvals and deadlines.
- Maintain clear reporting and visibility of delivery status, risks and dependencies across the trackside programme.
- Escalate high-impact matters with context and recommended options, enabling timely senior decision-making where required.
Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in a similar trackside, live event or hospitality operations role
- Proven people-management experience, with accountability for team delivery and performance
- Strong operational background, including supplier and budget oversight
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and operating with a high degree of autonomy
- Flexible approach to working hours and willingness to travel internationally as required
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Strong project management capability, with experience delivering multi-country programmes in parallel
- Excel at cross-functional collaborations, particularly with commercial teams (partnerships & sales)
- Experience working with high-net worth clients, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and service standards.
