Civmec’s Gladstone Maintenance division delivers specialised maintenance and shutdown services to refinery and heavy industrial clients in Queensland, partnering with operational teams to keep critical assets running safely and efficiently.

We are currently searching for an experienced workshop Trade Assistant for full time or casual engagement in our Gladstone Workshop.

The Role

  • Assist Tradespersons with fabrication, maintenance, repair, installation, material handling, and general workshop activities.
  • Prepare work areas, tools, equipment, and components by cleaning, grinding, marking out, and performing housekeeping to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety, quality, and environmental procedures, including the use of PPE, participation in risk assessments, and reporting of hazards or equipment defects.
  • Provide support to PWHT operations as required, including assisting with equipment setup and removal, installing and removing insulation and thermocouples under supervision, monitoring equipment, and maintaining associated records and housekeeping standards.

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Construction White Card
  • HRWL Forklift
  • HRWL CB Gantry Crane (Highly regarded)
  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment Medical and regular / random Drug and Alcohol screens
  • Additional Tickets will be highly regarded
