SWARCO UK & Ireland is seeking a Traffic Signals Engineer in Leeds to join Field Engineering Services. You’ll maintain, fault-find, commission and support traffic signals and ITS equipment across the region, ensuring assets remain safe, compliant and available for road users. The role covers routine and reactive maintenance, diagnosing electrical and communication faults, assisting with installation and commissioning, and delivering against contractual SLAs while upholding health and safety standards. Essential traits include practical electrical fault-finding, knowledge of signal controllers and roadside signage, the ability to work at height and a full UK driving licence. Desirable: Sector 8 accreditation or equivalent, commissioning experience. What you'll do
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled field engineering team responsible for maintaining, fault-finding, commissioning and supporting critical roadside technology across the region.
Working on traffic signals, signs and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) equipment, you'll play a key role in ensuring our customers' assets remain operational, safe and compliant, helping to keep road users moving every day.
The successful candidate will undertake both planned and reactive maintenance activities, diagnose and resolve faults, support commissioning activities and ensure all works are completed in line with contractual requirements, quality standards and health and safety procedures.
