We are currently looking for a Trainee Resident Liaison Officer to join our team in Plymouth.

Role Overview:

You will act as the point of contact between residents, contractors, and the housing organisation during planned works, repairs, or regeneration projects. The role ensures residents are well-informed, supported, and their concerns are addressed, minimising disruption and maintaining positive relationships.

Responsibilities:

Resident Communication & Support

• Assist senior colleagues in acting as a point of contact for residents regarding planned works, maintenance, and housing issues.

• Learn to provide clear and timely information about project scope, timelines, and impacts.

• Support the organisation of resident meetings, drop-in sessions, and home visits.

• Shadow experienced staff in offering assistance to vulnerable residents during periods of disruption.

• Help record and respond to resident queries, complaints, and feedback, escalating issues appropriately.

Project Coordination

• Support coordination between contractors, project managers, and housing officers to help minimise inconvenience to residents.

• Assist in keeping resident contact details and communication logs up to date.

• Help with scheduling appointments and arranging access for works.

• Accompany senior team members on site visits to observe and monitor contractor performance and resident satisfaction.

Community Engagement

• Contribute to initiatives that encourage resident involvement and participation in community projects.

• Support the distribution and collection of resident consultation materials and surveys.

• Learn to promote positive working relationships between residents, contractors, and the landlord.

Administration & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of communications, meetings, and agreed actions under supervision.

• Assist in preparing simple reports and summaries on resident engagement, complaints, and satisfaction.

• Help track project progress and resident concerns, supporting data entry and updates for project reviews.

You Will Need:

• Enthusiastic about developing a career in housing, community engagement, or customer service.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and professional manner.

• Willingness to learn how to manage conflict and handle difficult conversations appropriately.

• Good organisational and time management skills.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn database systems.

• Driving licence
