The Opportunity

Stanley College is seeking an experienced and passionate Trainer and Assessor – Hospitality to deliver high-quality training and assessment that prepares students for successful careers in the hospitality industry. Reporting to the Dean of VET, this role is responsible for facilitating engaging learning experiences across face-to-face, online, and blended delivery modes, while ensuring compliance with the VET Quality Framework and alignment with current industry standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high-impact hospitality training and assessment that meets accredited course outcomes and diverse learner needs.
  • Develop, adapt, and continuously improve training and assessment resources aligned with curriculum requirements and industry standards.
  • Assess student competency accurately and provide timely, constructive feedback and academic support.
  • Maintain accurate student records and contribute to internal and external audits, validation, moderation, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with ASQA requirements, the VET Quality Framework, and Stanley College policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure training content reflects current hospitality practices, technologies, and workforce needs.
  • Support student engagement, wellbeing, and employability, including preparation for industry placements and real-world learning experiences.
  • Participate in professional development, faculty planning, and organisational initiatives that support innovation, quality, and growth.
  • Uphold workplace health and safety standards and promote an inclusive, respectful learning and working environment.

About You

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
  • Relevant qualifications in Hospitality or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated recent and relevant vocational experience within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of the VET Quality Framework, compliance requirements, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and digital skills, with the ability to engage learners in face-to-face and online environments.
