As a Trainer Production – PCBA, you design, develop and deliver practical training on PCBA processes, equipment, and quality standards to ensure operators and technicians are skilled and compliant. This role ensures employees receive proper training to meet industry standards, supporting product quality, compliance, and operational excellence.To design, implement, and evaluate training programs for PCBA personnel, ensuring competency development, process adherence, and continuous improvement in manufacturing quality and efficiency. What you’ll do:
- Develop,maintain, and update clear and effective training materials, including Work Instructions (WI), visual guides, assessments, and certification modules for SMT and THT processes and quality standards.
- Deliver hands‑on training for SMT/THT equipment and processes, solder paste printing, SPI, P&P, reflow, AOI, manual soldering, wave/selective soldering, and IPC workmanship standards.
- Conduct onboarding and refresher ESD training for operators, technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure all operators and maintenance personnel are properly trained and certified before independent operation of any process or equipment.
- Maintain and regularly update the operator skill matrix, ensuring readiness for production plans, rotations, and new product introductions (NPI).
- Conduct competency audits on the shop floor, validate correct application of training and provide corrective coaching where gaps exist.
- Conduct regularly Layer Process audit, to assess operator expertise level, and define improvement plan.
- Integrate ECO/MCO changes, equipment upgrades, and process improvements into training materials and WI updates quickly and accurately.
- Support NPI and prototype builds by ensuring training readiness, observing pilot runs, and confirming operator capability for new processes.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of all training activities, progress reports, certifications trackers, recertifications and training compliance dashboards.
- Create easy‑to‑understand visual aids, one‑point lessons, troubleshooting guides, and videos to support faster learning and standardization.
- Provide direct coaching to operators on board handling, soldering quality, polarity checks, and general PCBA craftsmanship.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Area Shift Leader and Shift Leadership to align training with real operational needs and ensure consistent application of standards across all lines.
- Champion safety, ESD control, and IPC workmanship, embedding these principles into all training, refreshers, and skill assessments and EATON MESH requirements.
- Continuously improve the training system by analyzing defect trends, audit results, and operator feedback to strengthen workforce capability and reduce recurring issues and apply 5S, Leand and Kaizen
Qualifications:
- Technical Degree in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Training, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and technical training.
Skills:
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- IPC Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) certification is a strong advantage.
- Prior experience in developing and delivering structured training programs is required.
- Strong understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of soldering techniques, PCB assembly, rework, and inspection practices.
- Familiarity with IPC standards, especially IPC-A-610.
- Ability to effectively train individuals at varying levels of experience.
- Knowledge of ESD safety procedures and quality control practices.
- Experience with competency assessment and training evaluation methods.
