The Opportunity

We have multiple opportunities for experienced Transport Schedulers to join our team in Northgate, QLD, with a scheduled start date of early January 2025.

This role is all about smart planning, coordination, and optimisation of daily transport operations across the state.

Working in the Future Operations space, you’ll plan more than a day in advance before handing over to Current Operations, who manage services on the day. You’ll be responsible for allocating customer jobs to the right routes, fleet assets, and drivers to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable service delivery.

This is a pivotal role that balances customer needs, operational capacity, and contractual requirements, all while maximising fleet utilisation and keeping operational costs in check.

You’ll work closely with Operations, Transport Solutions Specialists, Customer Service, and Fleet teams to deliver high service reliability, adapt to changing conditions, and support a high-performance, customer-focused transport network.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate with site leaders, Customer Service, and Administration teams to ensure schedules are realistic, safe, and compliant with fatigue management and CoR requirements
  • Foster strong communication across operations to drive alignment and accountability
  • Support driver engagement through clear route planning and responsiveness to operational challenges
  • Maximise utilisation of fleet vehicles through route optimisation, load balancing, and reduced downtime

About You

You’ll bring a background in transport or logistics, with a systems-driven, analytical approach and a solid understanding of fleet operations, driver management, and vehicle capabilities. You’re confident using scheduling and route optimisation software (AMCS or similar) and enjoy solving operational puzzles to keep everything running smoothly.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • A process-driven, disciplined approach to operations
  • Knowledge of routing and dispatch procedures, time windows, and service constraints
  • The ability to build and adjust schedules dynamically based on volume, geography, and priorities
  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements
  • Understanding of fatigue management legislation and driver hour limits
  • Familiarity with service level agreements (SLAs) and the impact of schedule accuracy on customer satisfaction
  • Intermediate skills in Excel and Power BI

If you’re ready to kick off 2025 with a fresh opportunity and play a key role in keeping transport operations running like clockwork, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now and secure your next role before Christmas!
