Job Purpose
What you will do...
- Follow a consistent and regular schedule to perform various types of maintenance on heavy equipment, construction equipment and various pieces of machinery at various job sites
- Repair assorted heavy equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition.
- Disassembles engines and reassembles after a thorough examination.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and propane systems.
- Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services.
- Recondition and replace assorted parts of the heavy equipment.
- Must be able to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment.
- Diagnoses problem areas for any significant wear or tear on the equipment.
- Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner.
- Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs.
- Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols.
- Build positive relationships with customers.

Requirements
-
3+ years of experience as a Fleet Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or similar role.
- 310T License preferred; candidates actively pursuing their license or interested in obtaining it are encouraged to apply.

Experience performing preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet vehicles.

Familiarity with hydraulic systems, auxiliary equipment, and plow equipment considered an asset

Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to winter equipment breakdowns when required.

Comfortable working occasional overtime during peak seasons.

Ability to work in a hands-on, team-oriented environment where responsibilities extend beyond mechanical work

Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) considered an asset.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Experience with vehicle upfitting and modifications, including:
- Dump boxes
- Flat decks
- Bucket trucks
- Chassis modifications
- Towing and equipment support vehicles.
