Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a part-time 0.80 FTE Unit Assistant for CH5 Medicine Transitional Care at Health Sciences Centre Children's Hospital, onsite in Winnipeg, with days, nights and weekends and shifts of 11.63 or 7.75 hours. The role supports patient care under supervision of RN, RPN or LPN and requires a minimum Grade 10 plus a recognized Health Care Aide course, with prior patient care preferred. Key skills include organization, clear English communication, teamwork and a willingness to learn PHIA, WHMIS and universal precautions. Physical demands include lifting and moving. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, RN, RPN, and/or LPN, the Unit Assistant acts as a member of the health care team, assisting with patient care and providing basic supportive care as directed. The Unit Assistant demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.
