Advice For Applicants For The Unit Specialist Role

Highlight CADC status or your plan to certify within 24 months right at the top of your resume, along with your year of addiction treatment experience, so the hiring team sees you meet the must-have requirements immediately.

When you describe your experience, give specific examples of behavioral management techniques you have used and any lectures or group sessions you’ve led for patients, parents, or community resources. Quantify outcomes if possible and note how these experiences align with coordinating treatment plans and AA step work.

Prepare for interviews by thinking through scenarios you might face on the 2nd shift, such as managing group dynamics, implementing treatment plans, and coordinating recreational activities, and be ready to discuss how you collaborate with counselors and other team members to direct daily therapy.

Ask a thoughtful question about CADC certification support and opportunities to contribute to the treatment team, such as how success is measured for unit specialists and what growth paths exist within the program.
