Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a full-time Utility Tree Trimmer in London, Ontario. This role involves on-site work and travel to support utility and rail clients, using your Certified Utility Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer credentials to prune and remove trees and brush encroaching on rights of way as a crew member, maintaining chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts while following safety policies. Position Overview

As a Utility Tree Trimmer, you can rest assured that one day will never be the same as the other. In this role you will have a chance to travel to several work sites across a geographic area and put your certification as either a Certified Utility Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer to work as you safely execute trimming for our utility clients; the work you do will ensure the ongoing and safe transmission of electricity.

Job Duties

• Provides line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers and rail customers.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Removal of hazardous trees.
• Removal or trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways.
• Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Responsible for job site set up, clean up.
• Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Certified Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer designation required or equivalent.
• Experience performing pruning and removals from rope and saddle and/or aerial lift.
• Utility tree trimming and climbing experience preferred.
• Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.
