Faurecia, part of Forvia, is seeking a Validation Engineer - Radar Systems in Northville, MI, onsite, full time, to lead the validation and demonstration of an in-cabin radar system. You will steer system design validation, data collection, calibration, software performance testing and customer demonstrations while coordinating with algorithms, firmware, tools, customers and suppliers to secure data quality and KPI validation. A strong engineering background with radar experience and a structured, cross-functional mindset is essential, along with hands-on data handling (CSV/JSON/Excel), Windows CLI, basic Python, and comfort with Git/Jira/Confluence. Be ready to travel up to 10 percent, and emphasize practical results, meticulous documentation, and collaboration; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Support the development, validation, and demonstration of an in-cabin radar system by leading technical activities like system design, data collection, calibration execution, software performance testing, validation, and day-to-day support activities. This role works closely with algorithms, firmware, tools, customer, and supplier teams to ensure data quality, calibration robustness, and KPI validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Master the Radar system and all its technical aspects – Must be a technical reference for our internal teams, suppliers and customers
- Plan and execute radar system integration testing and validation
- Manage data collection in vehicles, lab setups, and calibration chambers.
- Run software performance and KPI validation tests on PC and embedded targets
- Generate technical concepts to improve product performance and KPI
- Support sensor and antenna calibration activities, including vehicle and headliner integration.
- Flash firmware, ML models, and configuration/calibration data onto hardware.
- Prepare and support customer demonstrations (setup, execution, data capture).
- Reproduce issues reported internally or by customers and support root-cause analysis.
- Run regression tests after software, model, or configuration updates.
- Operate and help improve data collection, visualization, and instrumentation tools.
- Track and document test cases, corner cases, and validation results.
- Maintain test setups, fixtures, procedures, and calibration documentation.
- Support supplier collaboration and internal training activities.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Required Qualifications
- Engineering background (electrical, mechatronics, embedded software, systems, or similar).
- Experience with radar sensor design, system, calibration, and performance measurement.
- Holistic approach and understanding of an In-Cabin Radar system
- Radar system testing and validation experience
- Able to work with electronic hardware, tools, scripts, and datasets.
- Structured, detail-oriented approach to testing and documentation.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and with external suppliers.
- Comfortable with
- Windows command-line usage
- CSV/JSON/Excel data handling,
- Basic Python scripting, Git/Jira/Confluence,
- Ethernet traffic analysis tools
Ability to travel nationally and internationally. (<10% international expected)
Nice-to-Have (Not Required)
- Data fusion experience
- Experience with Machine Learning concepts and practical execution
- Knowledge of automotive radar fundamentals, RF front end design, signal processing, and data analysis
- ASPICE familiarity and experience; particularly SYS.4 and SYS.5
- Functional safety (ISO 26262) familiarity
- Experience with MATLAB or similar tools.
- Automotive communication protocols and associated tools knowledge (CAN, Ethernet)
