Mashreq is seeking a Vice President of Credit Management and Control for Corporate Origination and Business Development in the UAE onsite. The role leads a team of Credit Relationship Managers delivering credit proposals, supports governance and portfolio standards, and drives planning and strategy across COBD. Job Purpose
• Lead a team of Credit Relationship Managers responsible for delivering high-quality credit proposals, while supporting the Head of CMC in maintaining credit governance, onboarding quality and portfolio standards across COBD.
• Support the Head of CMC in business planning, budgeting, target setting, performance management and strategy execution across COBD.
• Lead business management activities relating to Network Banking (Catch & Throw), International Subsidiaries and MNC initiatives, including performance monitoring, analytics, management reporting and governance oversight.
• Own COBD pipeline governance, management information, business performance reporting and advanced analytics frameworks to support portfolio oversight, business growth and informed decision-making.
• Act as the central coordination point for strategic initiatives, digital transformation projects, management reporting and cross-functional governance activities across COBD
Key Result Areas
• Lead a team of Credit Relationship Managers (CRMs) to ensure timely preparation and submission of high-quality credit proposals that meet internal standards and support business growth objectives.
• Design and implement appropriate controls, monitoring tools and early warning indicators in line with the Bank's risk appetite, business strategy and market developments.
• Monitor credit onboarding quality, pipeline progression and compliance with agreed processes, escalating material issues, delays or governance concerns where appropriate.
• Support the Head of CMC in business planning, budgeting, target setting, performance management and strategy execution across COBD.
• Lead business management activities for Network Banking (Catch & Throw), International Subsidiaries and MNC initiatives, including performance monitoring, governance oversight, KPI development and management reporting.
• Develop and maintain portfolio performance, management information and advanced analytics frameworks covering client acquisition, revenue generation, wallet penetration, utilization, pipeline conversion, booked limits and strategic initiatives.
• Own and govern the COBD origination pipeline, ensuring accuracy, transparency and timely reporting of opportunities, expected closures, booked deals and business development activity.
• Lead engagement with Finance and relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, reconciliation and performance analysis across portfolio, pipeline and business performance metrics.
• Act as the central coordination point for business reviews, governance forums, strategic initiatives, digital transformation projects and management reporting cycles.
• Support the development and execution of COBD, sector, country and corridor strategies through market intelligence, competitive analysis, portfolio analytics and performance monitoring.
• Support the Head of CMC in maintaining effective governance and control frameworks across origination activities, onboarding processes, audit requirements and reporting standards.
• Coordinate with Finance, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Digital and Technology teams on credit-related initiatives, control enhancements, risk framework improvements and process automation projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline; professional qualifications would be an advantage.
• 10–15 years of experience in Corporate Banking, Credit Risk, Portfolio Management, Business Management, Strategy, Finance or Performance Management.
• Strong understanding of corporate banking products, credit processes, portfolio management, risk frameworks and strategic planning disciplines.
• Experience supporting Network Banking, International Subsidiaries, MNC coverage strategies and cross-border banking initiatives.
• Strong analytical, financial, reporting and business intelligence capabilities with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
• Demonstrated experience in business planning, budgeting, performance management, portfolio analytics, management reporting and strategic initiatives.
• Experience working across Finance, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Digital and business teams on transformation and process enhancement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of management information, data governance and reporting disciplines.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI (or equivalent) and presentation tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
