Summary

Wapiti Gravel Suppliers, a division of N.P.A. is hiring a dispatcher for the 2026 construction season!

 

The Dispatcher coordinates the timely delivery of loads to crews and customers.  They also maintain the programming of the digital scale system with swipe cards, ensuring drivers submit accurate and detailed delivery tickets daily, handling inquiries and orders by phone, and verifying the accuracy of the previous day’s tickets and scale sheets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule multiple trucks and drivers to efficient delivery routes, ensuring proper directs, pickup and drop-off locations are communicated.
  • Plan product orders for trucks that ensure efficient loading and deliveries.
  • Record orders and trip events in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks such as filing, monitoring driver progress, purchase order requests.
  • Ensure that drivers have adequate time to perform duties safely and within hour of work regulations.
  • Record and enter information and data using Excel, JDE and JWS or other applicable systems.
  • Run and pull reports as needed in JDE and JWS.
  • Where applicable, assist the Sales Department by providing quality customer service before, during and after product delivery.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
  • Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
  • Other dispatching and administrative related duties as required. 

Qualifications | Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Experience with dispatching within the construction industry is preferred but willing to train.
  • Knowledge of truck configurations and legal weigh capacities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, JDE and JWS
  • Knowledge of hours of service regulation

Working Conditions

  • Travel as required.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Work is performed in an indoor setting, which could include extended periods of sitting or standing and computer use.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 10 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
  • Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
