Bayside Health is seeking a part-time Ward Clerk at Sandringham Hospital in Ward G3, ACE, a 12 bed unit delivering 24/7 General Medical care for older people. The role offers up to 80 hours per fortnight with potential for full time, Mon to Fri. You will maintain patient data, coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers, and work closely with the Nurse Manager and multidisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates have healthcare experience, strong Microsoft Office and hospital IT systems knowledge, advanced communication and time management skills, and consumer engagement experience. The Department
Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) - Ward G3, Sandringham Hospital, a 12+ bed unit providing 24/7 General Medical care for older persons with acute medical needs and/or geriatric syndromes. The model focuses on maintain independence and functional ability through comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment, with ongoing Geriatric Consultant input to optimise outcomes and discharge planning.
The Role
The Ward Clerk position is part of the G3 team who engages with patients, families, the Multidisciplanary team & other departments as part of their daily role. The Ward Clerk is responsible for maintaining up to date patient data throughout their admission & works closely with the Nurse Manager & Resource Nurse to provide prompt management of admissions, discharges & transfers of patients.
