SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Manager oversees distribution warehouse operations for DGI Supply and reports to the Regional Warehouse Manager.  This role requires experience in establishing and implementing a robust and effective strategy of direction and guidance to the operational activities of the warehouse with the objective of maximizing and optimizing growth and profitability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directing, coordinating, managing and controlling the following within the facility while working alongside of their team:
      • All activities related to the efficient processing of outbound freight and ground sales orders and maintaining daily operations and timely order processing
      • Various functions related to ensuring that the warehouse service level is maintained at or above the prescribed company objective
      • Establish and maintain effective relationships with Operations, Purchasing and Accounting, integrated supply and various other Corporate Departments
      • Respond to customer or vendor questions to resolve potential issues regarding distribution services
      • Participate in the development and implementation of service and productivity improvement initiatives to increase customer satisfaction and reduce operating expense
      • Direct and maintain a safe environment in which to work; Execute established safety and security programs
  • Supervise a team of 2+ employees, scheduling workload, delegating tasks
      • Ensure all employees at assigned warehouses are in compliance with SOP guidelines and current on all assigned trainings; provides development opportunities for career growth and succession planning
          • Conduct performance management activities including, annual performance appraisals and design of training and career development plans
          • Ensure that progressive coaching and counseling concepts are conducted according to established policies and procedures
          • Review workforce staffing plans to ensure proper levels are allocated to meet business demands
      • Responsible for, as needed, delivering product to the customers’ specifications/agreed arrangement in a safe and courteous manner treating the customer with the utmost respect as a representative of the company
        • Works with their team to provide back-up support with supplying local vending customers their inventory and replenishing vending machines as needed
        • Ensures DGI vehicle is clean and tidy by end of business day
        • Maintains company vehicle in compliance with Fleet Vehicle Policy
      • Operates forklift equipment on a daily basis.
      • Perform basic sanitation duties to maintain a clean and safe environment, clear aisles of debris
      • Ensuring the building and grounds are in working order, proactively reporting issues to manager and escalating when needed, getting quotes for repairs and seeing through to completion; on occasion provides hands on support for landscaping
      • Observe all safety policies and procedures; including the dress code and wears Steel Toed Shoes at all times
      • Running and analyzing reports to identify potential operational deficiencies and take corrective actions
      • Take accountability for goals and drive toward accomplishing them
      • Other duties as assigned
      • Reports to the Regional Warehouse Manager or National Warehouse Manager

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Compensation range between $70,000 to $80,000
  • 5+ years of work experience in a distribution environment
  • 2+ years managing warehouse operations and supervisory experience
  • Knowledgeable about the transportation of dangerous/hazardous goods and WHMIS (Canada) and Hazmat (USA), preferred
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills with ability to communicate well across all organization levels
  • High attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Teamwork oriented, solid supervisory experience
  • Technically proficient with MS Office programs
  • Ability to travel
  • Passionate, Adaptable, Customer Focused and Teamwork oriented
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
