Job Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day warehouse operations with a strong emphasis on material picking for production, lean warehousing principles, and material flow control. This role ensures that materials are delivered to production accurately, on time, and in alignment with safety, quality, and cost objectives. The position serves as a key operational partner to Production, Planning, Quality, and Inventory Control teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Warehouse Operations & Production Support

  • Supervise daily warehouse activities focused on picking and staging materials for production lines.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient material delivery to production to prevent downtime.
  • Coordinate closely with Production Supervisors to align warehouse execution with production schedules and priorities.
  • Oversee material movement from receiving through storage, picking, and point-of-use delivery.

Lean Manufacturing & Material Flow

  • Lead implementation and sustain lean warehouse practices, including 5S, visual management, standard work, and waste reduction.
  • Design, improve, and maintain material flow and control systems (kanban, FIFO lanes, supermarkets, point-of-use inventory, etc.).
  • Identify and eliminate inefficiencies related to motion, inventory, waiting, over-processing, and transportation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, space utilization, and inventory accuracy.

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Partner with the Cycle Count Team Leader to ensure inventory accuracy and root-cause discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper material controls, traceability, and transaction discipline within the SAP system.
  • Support audits, inventory reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
  • Support annual physical inventory.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
  • Production Supervisors to support line needs and schedule changes
  • Receiving & Shipping Supervisor to ensure smooth inbound and outbound material flow
  • Production Planners to align inventory levels with production demand
  • Quality Engineers to ensure proper handling, segregation, and control of materials

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse team members to ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Assign work, set expectations, and monitor performance against KPIs.
  • Enforce safety standards, company policies, and proper material handling practices.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and performance management of warehouse personnel.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across warehouse operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and internal procedures.
  • Address and resolve safety incidents, near misses, and quality concerns.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • On-time material delivery to production
  • Inventory accuracy and cycle count performance
  • Warehouse productivity and labor efficiency
  • Picking accuracy and error reduction
  • Safety performance (incidents, near misses)
  • Lean metrics (space utilization, material flow efficiency)
  • Work in progress material optimization in production areas.

What your background should look like

 

  • Minimum 5–7 years of warehouse or materials management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or senior lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and lean warehousing principles.
  • Experience managing material flow to production lines.
  • Proficiency with SAP system and inventory control processes.
  • Proficiency with MS Office specially in Outlook, Teams and Excell.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • Lean certification (Lean, Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt).
  • Experience supporting high-mix low volume manufacturing environment or just-in-time manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement initiatives.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $74,700 – 112,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
