Triumph Integrated Systems in Forest, Ohio is seeking a Weld Process Engineer to own the on-site development, documentation and oversight of welding processes for aerospace components, including GTAW of aluminum, stainless steel and Inconel and silver braze repair. You will partner with Design and Manufacturing Engineering and shop floor teams to troubleshoot, raise consistency and yield, conduct metallurgical work, lead trials and qualification documentation, and drive preventative maintenance and NADCAP compliance. Key requirements include GTAW experience in aerospace, ability to read blueprints, knowledge of AWS D17.1, NDT familiarity, strong teamwork and safety compliance, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with U.S. work authorization; preferred: 5+ years, CWI, WPS/PQR experience and weld fixture design. The Weld Specialist will be responsible for developing, documenting, and monitoring welding processes for components in our manufacturing facility. This includes GTAW of aluminum, stainless steel, and Inconel alloys as well as silver braze repair (torch).
The Weld Specialist will work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams, as well as workers on the manufacturing floor, to troubleshoot and improve welding processes. This role will focus on increasing the consistency and yield of welding by studying processes and products before, during, and after welding. This role will also be involved in some metallurgical work, including identifying samples for on-site lab review to resolve potential issues related to porosity, lack of penetration, melt thru, undercut, etc. and improving our ability to weld repair (over braze alloy) and increasing the strength of our products.
