You will interpret drawings, pass weld qualifications, weld in all positions and perform 6g TIG welding to procedures, managing consumables and heat to minimise distortion. Ideal candidates hold a recognised welding certificate, have 3+ years of relevant experience and can pass a weld test; VETASSESS is required for international applicants; crane competency is a bonus. The Role
- Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards.
- Undertake and pass all necessary weld qualifications in required weld processes
- Perform the welding of steel components in all positions
- Maintain all correct consumables, feeds, amperages and pre heat in accordance with applicable weld procedures
- Perform 6g TIG welding techniques
- Weld steel structures in sequence to eliminate shrinkage and distortion of steel components
About You
- Recognised Welding Certificate
- Previous records of passed welder qualifications (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to pass appropriate Weld Test
- Minimum 3 years with similar welding processes, specifications and standards
- Gantry Crane competency - desirable
- VETASSESS skills assessment completed (required for international/visa‑sponsored candidates)
