Position Overview

Excellent quality is a must for all new products/projects at NXP. To ensure this, every development project worldwide is subject to a peer review at an early stage of the development process. These reviews are structured through a dedicated process called NPI Complexity Benchmarking

As a working student, you will have the unique opportunity to learn about the diversity of product development processes at NXP. At the same time, you will support the project team in updating the tool landscape.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Support the NPI Complexity Benchmarking in the day to day work and reporting, working with the team on means to compare projects in the portfolio, also:
  • Developing graphical representations based on e.g. PowerBI
  • Work on databases and latest cloud technologies (AWS/Databricks)
  • Contribute to run data migrations, data enhancements and data quality

Your Profile

  • Studying for MSc degree in, SW engineering or SW Development Studies or  similar
  • Ability to drive a software project (requirements engineering to release)
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Basic knowledge of how to update a SharePoint site or how to work with PowerBI
  • Willingness to come on site as agreed in beforehand with manager
  • Available on short notice
  • Proactive attitude, can work independently, takes initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills, German optional
  • Customer-focused, pragmatic and hands-on

Hard skills

  • Ability to integrate data sources and extract actionable information from business data sources, knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, R, Python, DAX, VBA) for Data Management purposes and within Cloud Infrastructure (Databricks)
  • This might include including creating data models, data transformation, workflow automation (MS PowerAutomate)
  • Knowledge of differing Project Management approaches (e.g. PMI PMBoK, Agile Manifesto, PRINCE2) with familiarity of Project Management Lifecycle, understanding quantitative approaches to performance management
  • Business Intelligence; able to generate and automate reports, dashboards, visuals (e.g. Power BI, Tableau or similar visualization platforms) and Ad-Hoc analyses of business data Experience with MS Office (Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Please, note that this is a part-time working student position (max. 20 hours/week). You will need to be registered as a student at an educational instituation for the entire duration of the assignment.
