9532 - Team Member II PT
LidsLids Sports Group brings together sports, fashion and campus pride through licensed products and memorable retail moments. The COOP stores extend that expertise to Harvard and MIT, delivering a consistent, locally relevant experience for students, faculty, staff and campus visitors while honouring the brand’s heritage. A part-time Team Member II will help run the Harvard and MIT locations with a focus on accuracy at the till, cash-office routines, inventory support and service, stepping in as Manager-on-Duty when needed.
The role sits onsite in Boston, and you’ll share in daily floor leadership and transactional responsibilities that keep the stores running smoothly. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys people-facing work, wants steady hours in a university setting, and values hands-on leadership at the point of sale.
If you like the idea of supporting campus communities through retail, thrive in a team-oriented environment and can adapt to the schedule needs of peak periods and campus events, this role could be a good match.
Leading the floor at The COOP
Each day may start with opening or closing the store and stepping in as Manager-on-Duty when assigned. You’ll steer the team, coordinate breaks and coverage, keep service levels on track, and escalate issues as needed. Coaching colleagues on customer service, product knowledge and store procedures helps ensure a smooth guest experience across all touchpoints.
Behind the scenes: keeping operations on track
Behind the scenes, you’ll support cash-office functions, deposits and tender reconciliation, and work with invoices, merchandise payable processes and receiving records as assigned. You’ll help apply The COOP membership benefits accurately and follow Harvard-, MIT-, or store-specific tender, discount and transaction rules. You’ll also assist with inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, support loss prevention efforts, and participate in safety, technology and facilities routines.
Customers come first on the floor
Maintaining a visible floor presence means helping guests across product categories and services. You’ll back merchandising, replenishment, housekeeping and campus events, ensuring the store stays ready for peak periods. A flexible approach to covering all departments helps you step in wherever needed to keep service level expectations met.

Tips for your COOP application
Lead with your relevant retail and leadership experience, especially any roles where you opened, closed or acted as a supervisor. Use concrete examples to show how you’ve supported cash handling, inventory or membership benefits in past positions.
Demonstrate how you’ve handled multiple tender types and navigated retail systems by describing specific tools you’ve used and the kinds of transactions you’ve processed. If you’ve helped reconcile deposits or conducted stock counts, share the outcomes you achieved.
Be ready to discuss how you’ve communicated with customers and coached teammates to improve service levels. Prepare a short example that shows you can balance guest needs with operational controls under pressure.
Ask a focused question about how The COOP leverages Harvard or MIT tender rules during peak events, or how the team plans for campus-wide events and holidays to ensure coverage. This helps show you’re thinking about the role in the campus context.
