Arsenal Football Club is looking for an Academy Nutritionist to join the Academy Performance team on a part‑time consulting basis, delivering an age‑appropriate nutrition service for U9‑U14 players based at Hale End. The role is onsite in London and will suit someone who enjoys working closely with young athletes, their families, coaches and the broader staff to support health, development and performance. The club has a long and storied history and a strong commitment to its local community, with a clear aim to be a world‑class academy.

The consultant will help strengthen the nutrition framework so it continues to support health, development and performance across the academy, contributing directly to Arsenal’s mission of creating a challenging and caring football environment for its players. Please note: this is a consultant role on a part‑time basis and is likely to be two days per week.

A day in Hale End's nutrition routine

You’ll run nutrition education sessions that align with the existing curriculum, delivering both theoretical and practical knowledge to players, their parents or guardians, coaches and other key stakeholders. You’ll monitor nutrition by reviewing food diaries and offering feedback, aiming to influence eating patterns during regular meals and snack times. You’ll manage clinics for players who are injured and those who are fit, ensuring they receive tailored guidance. You’ll contribute to menu planning and help improve the overall food provision at Hale End, working closely with the restaurant team to ensure nutrition timing and quality align with the players’ needs. Collaboration with Chefs and the kitchen staff will be key to refining the Hale End dining environment, while you’ll also brief schools and external partners to elevate nutrition provision beyond the academy. On matchdays, tours and tournaments you’ll help organise and arrange suitable food provisions, and you’ll participate in departmental meetings, contributing to broader academy performance activities as required by the Lead Academy Nutritionist and Head of Academy Performance.

Must-have requirements

  • You've previously applied your nutrition expertise within a professional sport setting, bringing practical sports nutrition experience to a high‑pressure environment.

  • You hold a MSc degree in Sport Nutrition and are registered with The Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr) to a graduate level.

  • You can communicate effectively and build impactful relationships with players, parents/guardians, coaches and external stakeholders.

  • You organise your work well and stay adaptable when priorities shift, balancing multiple tasks without losing focus.

  • You project a professional mindset, act as an ambassador for the club and uphold discretion and confidentiality; the role includes safeguarding responsibilities as a Position of Trust and requires up‑to‑date safeguarding training and a DBS check prior to starting.

Work schedule and practical details

The role is based at Hale End in London and is an onsite, part‑time position, expected to cover about two days per week. A DBS check and other essential background checks are required before the start, with the level (basic, standard or enhanced) determined by the responsibilities. The club emphasises safeguarding and requires candidates to keep safeguarding training current. Arsenal also highlights its commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion through Arsenal for Everyone and notes its status as a Disability Confident Leader; adjustments to recruitment can be requested, and applications from disabled candidates are welcome. If you’re likely to meet the Equality Act 2010 definition of a disabled person, you may be eligible to apply for an interview via the Disability Confident Scheme.

Application updates will be sent by email, and applicants are advised to routinely check their spam or junk folders since messages from the Teamtailor platform can end up there. The closing date for applications is Sunday 4th October 2026, and the club reserves the right to close the role early if volumes are high.

How to apply for this opportunity is straightforward: the club welcomes applications from individuals who bring a practical, player‑facing approach to nutrition in football and who can contribute to a demanding but rewarding academy environment.

Tips for applicants

Lead with your most relevant qualification: place your MSc in Sport Nutrition and SENr registration at the top of your resume, and show any previous work with youth or elite athletes, especially in football or comparable sports. Demonstrate your two‑day‑per‑week availability by outlining how you would structure a part‑time timetable to cover education sessions, clinics and matchday support.

Show how you prove you meet the must‑have skills: give concrete examples of delivering nutrition education sessions and leading food diary analyses, including how you provided feedback and influenced behaviours at key meal times. Highlight your communication approach with players, parents/guardians and staff and any collaboration with kitchen teams.

Prepare to discuss what you’ll cover in interviews: outline a plan for integrating nutrition education across U9‑U14 cohorts, including how you’d run clinics for injured and well players, and how you’d partner with Hale End restaurant staff to optimise meal timing and quality for matches and tours.

Ask a smart, role‑specific question: inquire about how the academy measures the impact of nutrition education on development and performance, and what safeguarding training expectations look like in practice within this consultant role.

How to apply

Application closing date: Sunday 4th October 2026. The club may close the process early if application volumes are high. Expect status updates by email, and be sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see messages from the recruitment platform.
