Growing the Anzor footprint in the industrial market

Anzor New Zealand is the country’s leading supplier of stainless steel fasteners, with more than three decades in the business and 12 branches nationwide. They’re looking for an Account & Business Development Manager to join the Wellington team, working onsite in Lower Hutt, and to drive growth across the industrial space. This role is a full-time position for someone who wants a hands-on, customer-facing job with a clear path to expanding Anzor’s brand and client base in the region.

With a Kiwi-owned, customer-first mindset, Anzor backs its people with solid support, modern tools, and opportunities to learn. If you enjoy solving technical problems for customers, building durable relationships, and hitting ambitious targets, you’ll fit in well with a fast-paced, energetic group that values practical solutions and reliable service.

The day-to-day is about actively growing the business by bringing in new customers every month, maintaining strong relationships through clear communication, and collaborating with the wider branch network to support sales. You’ll focus on managing key accounts inside the industrial sector, while identifying new opportunities to meet revenue goals across the Greater Wellington region up to Levin and Masterton.

What the role requires from you

To be considered, you’ll need solid B2B sales experience in a related field and a proven ability to drive sales growth. Your track record should show you can hit, and where possible exceed, targets while keeping customers satisfied. You should be comfortable using technology and quickly adapting to new systems in a high-energy team setting. A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence and the right to work in New Zealand are essential.

  • At least two years of face-to-face B2B sales experience in a similar industry
  • A verified history of generating sales growth and meeting targets
  • Comfort with achieving targets and maintaining performance in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy and a knack for learning new tools quickly
  • A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand

Nice-to-haves include existing contacts in the industrial or engineering sectors and experience selling fasteners or working in a trade environment, though these are not mandatory. A good sense of humour and a practical, results-focused mindset will also help you connect with team members and customers alike.

Pay, perks and practical details

The role offers a competitive base salary with a bonus opportunity, plus a Surface Pro, a mobile phone, and a company car. You’ll have ongoing learning and development opportunities, plus access to extensive tools to manage your customer database and ongoing support to help grow sales and opportunities. The position provides job security in a well-established, nationwide business.

Location and structure matter here: the job is onsite in Lower Hutt, with the territory spanning the Greater Wellington region up to Levin and Masterton. You’ll be part of a team that values clear communication and collaboration with the wider branches to keep customers happy and sales moving forward.

In addition to the essentials above, the company emphasizes its commitment to its people, rewards hard work, and recognizes successes as part of a long-term career with Anzor.

Tips for getting the job

Lead your resume with your two-plus years of direct B2B sales in an industrial or related field, and be sure to call out any concrete growth you’ve driven and targets you’ve hit. If you have a NZ driver’s licence and eligibility to work in NZ, mention those details up front so the hiring team can confirm you’re ready to move quickly.

When you describe your must-have skills, give real examples that show how you’ve managed customer relationships, communicated clearly, and used technology to stay organised and productive in a fast-paced environment. If you have experience with fasteners or a trade background, highlight it and explain how it translated into selling solutions rather than just products.

For interview prep, sketch a plan for how you would grow Anzor’s industrial customer base in the Greater Wellington area over the first few months, including how you’d leverage CRM tools and the support from the branch network to win new opportunities and meet revenue targets.

Finally, think of a sharp question to ask about success metrics. A good example is: what are the key performance indicators for the first 6 to 12 months, and which tools or systems will you rely on to track new- account growth and overall revenue progress?
