About the Role

We're looking for a driven Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of accounts across the Central North Island. This is a role for someone who thrives on autonomy, a self-starter who is a natural at building long-term partnerships, comfortable developing strategic account plans, and driving sustainable sales growth across some of New Zealand's most exciting outdoor and leisure retail accounts.

 

A Day in the Life

  • Building and nurturing long-term relationships with key accounts across the Central North Island
  • Developing and executing strategic account plans to grow volume, profit, and in-store execution
  • Proactively identifying new opportunities to increase sales and expand product ranging
  • Delivering accurate sales forecasting, budget tracking, and performance reporting
  • Collaborating with internal teams across Product, Operations, Finance, and Marketing
  • Negotiating trading terms and managing the renewal cycle with key accounts
  • Supporting accounts with merchandising guidance and promotional program roll-out

 

About You

 

We're looking for someone genuinely creative and proactive. A motivated Account Manager who brings fresh ideas to their accounts and takes full ownership of their patch.

 

Ideally, you'll have:

 

-5+ years' experience in sales or account management

-Strong commercial acumen, you are comfortable reading a P&L and building a business case

-Clear, confident communication and negotiation skills

-The ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities without dropping the ball

-Experience with ERP systems and the MS Office Suite (NetSuite experience would be advantageous)

-A background in or passion for the outdoor/lifestyle industry is a big plus
