Summerset is seeking a part-time Activities Coordinator for the Warkworth village in Auckland, two days per week on site. You will plan and lead a diverse calendar of resident activities, from Mid Winter, Oktoberfest and Chinese New Year to exercise programs and outings, while ensuring clear family communication and a warm, themed experience. The most important qualities are genuine care for older people, a positive can-do attitude, strong interpersonal and written skills, and solid organisation with multitasking ability. Requirements include Outlook/Office literacy, current first aid, LCQ or willingness to train, and a valid driver’s license. Applications close Tuesday 17 February and may close early; tailor your application with concrete examples of event leadership and how you’ve supported residents to fit Summerset’s care-first culture. Benefits include Southern Cross Health Essentials, uniform, birthday leave, supplier discounts.
At Summerset, from the moment we start developing a village, to when our residents call it home, it’s the passion and dedication of our people that brings our villages to life. We are one team united by being part of something bigger – to bring the best of life to our residents.
We are looking for an energetic and creative Activities Coordinator to join our Warkworth village. Ideally you will have experience in events, hospitality or aged care, but more important to us will be your genuine care of people from all walks of life.
You will plan and facilitate a variety of engaging activities and events for our residents, including special celebrations such as the Mid-Winter extravaganza, Oktoberfest and Chinese new Year (to name a few). Your role will ensure that residents receive exceptional support, managing the needs of vulnerable residents and maintaining effective communication with their families. With your creative flair, you'll bring celebrations to life by decorating and creating themed experiences around key calendar events. A good level of fitness will also be beneficial for delivering exercise programs, organising regular outings, and coordinating sporting and recreational events.
This is a permanent part-time role, working two days per week, which can be fixed between Monday and Friday.
As an experienced Activities Coordinator, you understand how to shape daily rhythms, keep activities engaging, and ensure every program stays organised and on track with ease.
