We're looking for people who can create a welcoming atmosphere for all staff & guests and have the confidence to deal with a myriad of questions and queries.
As part of this role you will be required to manage all aspects of Ski Area communications; including providing accurate information to guests, updating our snow reports and responding to email/telephone/in person questions! Yes, this really is a varied role!
In addition the Administration Crew coordinate all staff events, from parties, to team building activities, as well as produce weekly newsletters and oversee our reward and recognition programmes. We pitch in and help other departments as required, so you'll have the opportunity to be involved in various facets of our operation.
Previous experience in a snow sports environment is considered an advantage.
About the Role
• welcome guests and staff and answer a wide range of questions and queries
• use ski area communication tools to share information about current ski area conditions
• design & produce fun and engaging weekly staff newsletters
• oversee our staff reward and recognition programme to ensure staff feel recognised for any extra efforts
• coordinate staff events, such as movie nights, parties, and other socials/sporting events to keep staff engaged and motivated throughout the season
• process lift passes for media and VIP visitors
• reunite lost children with their parents
• provide administration support to management and other departments
• maintain a host of ski area records, including invoicing, health and safety and training records
• coordinate the issue and return of all staff uniforms
• note taking in an emergency situation
• assist across the ski area as required, this will often require you to work outside in a variety of alpine conditions
About You
• passionate about the snowsports industry and learning about ski field operations
• an administrative/events background would be beneficial as would knowledge of ski area operations
• ability to remain calm under pressure
• experienced in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint)
• high levels of initiative
• proven experience in working autonomously along with sound decision-making skills
• the ability to engage and build rapport with guests and staff quickly
• strong teamwork skills and experience in frontline customer service
• proven experience of working in a small team would be beneficial
• ability to follow procedures and absorb large quantities of information
• comfortable working both inside as well as outside in a variety of alpine weather conditions
• accuracy and attention to detail
• willingness and flexibility to assist other departments as and when required including Guest Services, Rentals, Retail, Food & Beverage and Lifts.
• physically fit, you will be required to spent time on your feet outside in a variety of conditions
• an understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed
