Air New Zealand is inviting applications for its 2027 Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship in Auckland, a four year, structured program that offers permanent employment from day one, hands on maintenance experience, and support to complete the New Zealand Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering (Level 4). You’ll rotate across maintenance areas, be mentored by experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, and build a clear path to becoming an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and potentially a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Eligibility includes NZ or Australian citizenship or NZ permanent residency, a Level 3 NZ Certificate (or NMIT), a full NZ driver licence, reliable transport, and availability from February 2027. Throughout the programme you’ll rotate through different areas of Aircraft Maintenance, gaining practical experience while learning from industry experts.
You’ll assist with aircraft inspections, maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repairs while developing the skills required to become an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME).
Upon successful completion of the programme, you’ll transition into an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer role, with future opportunities to progress towards becoming a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) or explore other careers within Engineering & Maintenance.
