JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a client and family centred care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, position provides scheduling/booking, data entry and extraction and clerical and reception functions for the area. Duties include scheduling/booking a variety of client/patient appointments and follow up visits, tests, and referrals to other physicians and/or hospitals, preparing and confirming accuracy of client/patient information, entering data into several separate databases such as PCIS, FoxPro, Renal Soft, PROMIS etc., updating statistics on client/patient attendance and other information, performing data reconciliation as required and preparing statistical reports at the request of the Manager or other team member. Provides clerical functions such as typing a variety of technical and non-technical materials utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs. Answers the phone and responds to routine messages or forwards callers to appropriate personnel. Maintains departmental equipment, supplies and filing systems. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 12, two year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge & AbilitiesAbility to keyboard at 45 wpm.Ability to operate related equipment.Ability to deal with others effectively.Knowledge of medical terminology.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to organize work.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
