Advice for applicants
First, place your most relevant experience up front on your resume. Highlight the three years of related work you’ve done, especially any roles that involved coordinating meetings, handling forms and documentation, maintaining contact lists, and supporting governance activities. If you’ve worked with Oracle Fusion, Frontline Absence Management, or other payroll systems, mention those credentials early so the hiring team sees the asset you bring.
Second, demonstrate how you meet the must-have qualifications with concrete examples. Describe a specific project where you prepared agendas and information packages, or where you tracked budgets and purchasing processes for a district event. Tie those experiences back to the job’s emphasis on discretion, confidentiality, and customer service.
Third, gear your interview preparation toward governance and senior leadership support. Be ready to discuss how you manage sensitive information and how you handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-changing environment. If you’ve supported District Education Council (DEC) governance or similar bodies, be prepared to walk through those responsibilities and outcomes.
Finally, think of a thoughtful, role-related question to ask. A strong option could be: what does a typical month look like for the DEC governance workload and district events, and how does this role prioritize competing deadlines during busy periods?
