We’re looking for a hands-on, practical team player to help keep Rotorua’s parks and public spaces safe, tidy, and looking their best. As an Asset Services Operator, you’ll inspect, maintain, and repair council assets such as playgrounds, park furniture, signage, and fencing, while also supporting grounds maintenance and community events when needed.
You’ll work closely with a range of internal teams, iwi partners, contractors, and community groups to deliver high-quality results for our community. From painting and minor carpentry to inspecting assets and ensuring public safety, every day will bring something different.
Health and safety are central to this role, and you’ll be confident using tools, vehicles, and equipment safely and efficiently. You take pride in your work, manage time well, and enjoy making public spaces welcoming and functional for everyone.
We’re looking for someone with a trade qualification or relevant experience in building, maintenance, or grounds care. You’ll have practical repair skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach. A driver’s licence is essential; machinery endorsements and familiarity with asset systems are a bonus.
