Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking a Building Compliance Officer (BWOF) to join the Building Inspection team in Rotorua, full time and onsite. Are you passionate about Rotorua, our beautiful community, and gorgeous buildings? We are looking for a skilled Building Compliance Officer (BWOF) to join our Building Inspection team. In this role, you will provide a customer solutions-focused approach to the delivery of processes that ensure premises with Specified Systems are well-maintained and can be safely used by building occupants. You will issue accurate Compliance Schedules (CS) in conjunction with Code Compliance Certificates, amend existing Compliance Schedules, and receive, review and record all BWOF’s, new and renewals.
To succeed in this role, you need a relevant tertiary qualification or extensive industry experience. The ability to demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of the relevant legislation and the Local Government regulatory framework (Building Act and Building Code, Local Government Act) is desirable but not required.
