Job Description
Due to an internal promotion, we're searching for a talented Assistant Accountant to join our Commercial Finance team. Responsibilities include the following:
- Conduct regular service and customer price reviews against approved price lists.
- Prepare and maintain workshop reporting.
- Analyse stock usage and movements, including inventory stocktakes, reconciliations, and valuations.
- Assist with bins and fixed asset stocktakes, asset reporting and capitalization
- Review accruals and provisions and support month-end and recurring processes for the Commercial team.
- Perform fuel usage analysis and reporting.
- Assist with sales customer reporting and sales portfolio reviews.
- Support preparation of operating unit management reports and formal business performance reviews.
- Assist with volume reporting and analysis for the business unit (including mass balance analysis).
- Support preparation of volumes, sales, CAPEX, and operating budgets.
- Assist with segment forecasting and financial projections.
- Support the tendering process with financial and commercial inputs.
- Provide additional commercial and business performance support as required to ensure successful service delivery from the Commercial Team.
Qualifications

- A natural problem solver, analytical with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven experience with accounting processes and exposure to accounting packages, Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- The ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as members of your team.
- Self sufficient who can work with minimum supervision to level of competency.
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce is essential.
- Knowledge of transport, logistics or waste would be desirable.
- Relevant experience is beneficial but is not a requirement.
