Mayfield West OSHC is hiring an Assistant Director to partner with the Service Director in day-to-day operations, lift program quality, and coach on-floor educators in a permanent, full-time onsite role. You’ll help deliver My Time Our Place aligned programs, drive planning and reflection, ensure NQF compliance, coordinate enrolments and documentation, and step in to manage operations as needed while building a positive, team-first culture and strong relationships with families and the school. Essential: Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Education and Care, OSHC or similar experience, current First Aid CPR, WWC, Mandatory Reporter training (or willingness to obtain). About the role

As Assistant Director, you’ll work closely with the Service Director to keep things running smoothly day-to-day while lifting the quality of programs and supporting your team on the floor.

This is a permanent full-time role, ideal for someone who enjoys a balance of leadership and being actively involved with children and educators.

Supporting great programs

  • Help deliver fun, engaging programs aligned with My Time, Our Place
  • Contribute to planning, reflection, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain strong compliance with the National Quality Framework

Keeping the service running

  • Step in to coordinate the service when needed
  • Support enrolments, attendances, and daily operations
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and up to date

Leading and backing your team

  • Support educators on shift with guidance and coaching
  • Help build a positive, team-first culture
  • Lead by example on the floor, not just from the office

Building strong local connections

  • Be a friendly, familiar face for families and the school
  • Build genuine relationships with children, carers, and the wider community
  • Represent the service with professionalism and care

Putting safety first

  • Uphold safeguarding, WHS, and risk management practices
  • Support a culture where children’s safety and wellbeing always come first

About you

You’re someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, supporting others, and creating a positive environment for children and your team.

  • Have experience in OSHC or children’s services
  • Enjoy mentoring others and leading by example
  • Take pride in quality, compliance, and doing things properly
  • Are approachable, reliable, and great with people

Essential requirements

  • Diploma (or higher) in Early Childhood Education & Care (or equivalent)
  • Experience in OSHC or a similar setting
  • Current First Aid & CPR (Education & Care)
  • Working With Children Check
  • Mandatory Reporter training (or willingness to obtain)
