Standard Chartered is seeking an Associate Director Investment Advisor to lead investment guidance for the Pakistan Corridor, based onsite in Dubai. The role sits within Wealth and Retail Banking, a unit that serves more than 11 million clients with a mix of deposits, payments, financing and tailored wealth solutions. The bank counts about 25,000 colleagues across 35 countries, and its long history of more than 170 years has built a broad, cross-border network that supports client growth and diversification.

This position is ideal for someone who works well with relationship managers, translates market views into client-ready ideas, and enjoys shaping investment outcomes for affluent clients. The Pakistan Corridor focus means collaborating with UAE-based teams and product partners to connect client needs with market opportunities, while upholding the bank’s standards and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do on the desk in Dubai

You’ll partner with UAE-based Relationship Managers serving the affluent segment to help clients reach their investment objectives and support growth in assets under management and investment product revenues. You’ll share timely market perspectives from the CIO Office with frontline teams and clients, ensuring relevant insights on global capital markets and asset classes reach the right people at the right time. You’ll also coordinate with product managers across the wealth management framework, Managed Investments, Bancassurance, CMPS and WM Lending, to ensure client and market requirements flow into product knowledge and solution ideas. In addition, you’ll work to ensure comprehensive client coverage for portfolio reviews and help plan for New to Wealth clients, contributing to a pipeline of opportunities.

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll determine each client’s risk appetite and investment preferences in collaboration with Relationship Managers, conduct portfolio reviews to provide an independent assessment of existing holdings, and ensure wealth sales teams have solid support and access to current market ideas. You’ll stay current on trends in investment products, markets and technology tools used to tailor investment solutions, and you’ll generate reports or analyses as needed within the management framework.

Smart steps to stand out in your application

Lead your resume with a concise summary of your experience working alongside Relationship Managers to help clients meet investment objectives and drive growth in AUM and investment revenues. Highlight concrete examples of how you determined a client’s risk tolerance and translated that into investment guidance, including any portfolio reviews you conducted and the independent assessments you provided. In interviews, be ready to discuss how you keep current on investment products and market trends, and how you collaborate with WM product teams to deliver timely market views and client-ready solutions. When you have a chance to ask a question, inquire how the Pakistan Corridor strategy shapes product roadmaps and how investment advisory success is measured across the corridor.
