Assurance and Advisory (A&A) is Teck’s internal audit enterprise function that reports directly to Teck’s Audit Committee. We are seeking a co-op student currently enrolled in a program such as Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems (or a related field). The ideal candidate has a strong interest in organizational governance, risk management, and internal controls; a natural curiosity ; and a passion for continuous improvement.
Candidates must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution for the full duration of the co-op term and plan to return to their studies upon completion for at least one academic term. If you are not currently located near the work location, you must be willing to commute or temporarily relocate for the duration of the term. A valid work permit will be required where applicable.
Reporting to the Director, A&A, the successful candidate will support the execution of A&A’s Annual Internal Audit Plan and contribute to our Strategic Initiatives. This role offers exposure to financial controls & audits, internal audit methodologies, risk management, the mining industry, and cross-functional collaboration within an international organization.
A&A team’s vision is to be trusted and insightful business partners, that deliver actionable and timely risk, control and governance insights and foresights to support Teck’s strategic objectives of core excellence and resilience and enable desired business performance outcomes. The A&A team operates as a multi-disciplinary pool of resources who work in project teams to deliver risk-based assurance engagements, including the annual audit of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and quarterly audit of Disclosure Processes & Controls (DC&P).
