Bakery Assistant Manager - New World Ashburton

We're seeking a reliable, motivated Bakery Assistant Manager with a passion for people, quality, and customer service. You'll work alongside the Bakery Manager to support the successful operation of the department while gaining valuable leadership experience. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career and continue developing their management skills.

 

This is a hands‑on role that requires early starts, teamwork, and a passion for great food.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Previous bakery, retail, supermarket, or team leadership experience. A Bakery Trade Qualification is advantageous but not essential.
  • A positive, hands-on leader who enjoys supporting and developing others. 
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills. 
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards. 
  • A reliable and proactive approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of departmental responsibilities. 
  • A desire to further develop leadership skills and build a long-term career within the business.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, additional hours, and occasional extended hours as required.

 

Days & Hours of Work:

 

Tuesday to Saturday – 40 hours per week
