Join OceanaGold's Open Pit Operations as a Blast Crew member at Macraes in Otago. Essential requirements include a full current driver’s licence with the ability to drive manual; a First Aid certificate is a plus; mining experience and an Approved Handlers certificate are beneficial. Job Description

Join our Open Pit Operations crew! We are on the hunt for a Blast Crew member. This role assists with ensuring all Open Pit Drill and Blast activities are compliant with production targets and are completed in a safe and efficient manner. This is a great opportunity to start or continue your career in mining, with opportunities to develop long-term, gaining Shotfiring tickets and Blast certifications along the way! 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Achieve a pit permit for mine and safely operate vehicles in the mining area
• Assist with ensuring the security of the Magazines.
• Ensure each blast area is correctly prepared and controlled during all loading and blasting activities, under the guidance of the shotfirer
• Follow all site procedures as required

Qualifications

• Full and current Drivers Licence, the ability to drive manual vehicles is essential
• First Aid Certificate benficial
• Mining experience and Approved Handlers Certificate beneficial
